The surroundings
What to do
According to your taste and longings, there are a lot of possibilities !
For nature and sports enthusiasts, the area is a paradise for hiking, mountain-biking or cycling with dozens of trails, sinuous roads which go through the hills, forests and vineyards, offering amazing sceneries.
In the center of the lovely village of Villié-Morgon, you can find the Fontcrenne Castle and its Wine cellar, where you can taste the different Morgon wines.
Close to the Castle, the park with its deers and peacocks offers a nice and shady rambling. Families won’t miss the playground where children can romp.
Wine and gastronomy lovers will appreciate a good wine tasting on the Wine Road, followed by a typical Coq au Vin or other Beaujolais food speciality in one of the many tasty restaurants of the surroundings.
Culture and heritage seekers will love traveling through the villages between Beaujolais vines and the Pierres Dorées area on the west of Villefranche sur Sâone, not to mention the pretty medieval village of Oingt.
Families ! Don’t miss : the attraction and zoo park Touroparc, the wine theme park Hameau Duboeuf or a treasure hunt in Beaujeu and Fleurie…
